Month: August 2003

  • Soooooooooooo….. it’s been a loooooooooooong time since I updated this thing. I know I stopped for some reason, but I can’t remember now…. in fact, I forgot all about it until I got a reminder in my email. Makes me wonder why I started getting these reminders all of a sudden. Why didn’t I get any emails before now? It’s been almost 2YEARS! since I last updated.

So, what’s been going on with me? I still write the Circle of Bodhisattva Newsletter (soon to have a name change). I moved all my poetry from my angelfire site to a topcities site because angelfire reduced their free space to 20 MBs from 50 MBs. Even so, I’m quickly running out of space what with the COB archives. I swear if people don’t start donating, I’m going to have to start deleting the old newsletters. It only takes $5 a month for double the space, and I haven’t had one single donation. It’s not like I’m asking to be compensated for my time. Sheesh, it takes me all of Sunday, and Monday and Tuesday night to put the whole thing together. Don’t people realize how much of my spare time I invest in this? It makes me feel rather under appreciated.

Anyway, in addition to the newsletter, I also started a webcomic at keenspace.com last year. http://poesy.keenspace.com is the home of Poesy Comics. Every Sunday I post a new comic to Arkana, a Lovecraftian horror comic. It’s very gory, and though not explicit, it is suggestive. I wouldn’t recommend it for children. Every Thursday however, I post a new comic to Free Range Poetry. There’s nothing explicit about FRP. I take one of my poems, and I add a picture. Sometimes the picture is disconcerting, and maybe creepy, but not violent or explicit. Technically a picture and poem would be called a haiga, but I prefer illustrated poem. Every other Monday, I post a new Lovecraftian/mythos related link in the Feature section and a couple more webcomics that I read in the Links section. So in addition to a full time job and the newsletter, I have this comic taking up all my free time.

And people wonder why I’m so pale and easily irritated.

But wait, there’s more. Since I have so lately come back to Xanga, I’ve decided to use this as a dream diary which I will be linking to my comic. Now I imagine lots of people are thinking this is going to bomb, but I promise, though I don’t dream every night, I dream more than is average and my dreams are, well, all kinds of bizarre.

So, I hope with this re-entry into the Xanga group, I foster some interest in my comic and newsletter, and may endear myself to the more compassionate among you all to at least pity me… PITY ME!

This has been a rant/news update from Candace (Harmony0stars).
