Hmmm, I’m sending (have sent) an email to Lindisfarne Press to ask after the short story I sent them in December. What do you think?
Hi _____,
I was just wondering whether you’d gotten to look at the short story “Inheritance” I sent to you on Decemeber 1st. I really wasn’t sure how long I should wait before getting nervous. I don’t like to be a pest either, so please let me know if I’m annoying you by asking no matter if you’ve gotten to it or not. Of course, if you thought it was utter drek and you weren’t sure how to tell me to creep back under my rock, let me know that too. I’m sure it would be something I’d need to know for future reference. heh
Was it too self-depreciating? Will he think I’m a nutjob and automatically move my story to the circular file?
Inquiring minds want to know…

Even though it began way back on January 22nd, I decided in honor of the Chinese New Year to theme this week’s newsletter on Dragons. Get some insight on dragons from around the world in the Sites of Interest, or if you collect figurines, check out the Rose Goddess Store for some lovely examples.
This week’s article gives you the nitty-gritty on Oriental dragons. The Craft for the week is an Egg Carton Dragon suitable for all ages. I found a couple of dragon jokes and a funny poem for your enjoyment. This week’s cartoon is actually an optical illusion. See if you can find all three images in the picture. (Hint: one of them is a dragon.)

I just checked out your newsletter. It’s fab, especially to have a ready-to-hand dream dictionary. How do you have time to research that, update your comics and write on xanga? You must be very motivated (mostly anyway!).
PS I’ve read in the past that 3 months is a usual / non-pestering lengh of time to wait before contacting an editor about a submission. I shouldn’t think you’d be thought of as a pest for enquiring after 2 though.
Thanks KTW
I’m glad you like the newsletter. Isn’t it odd I can be motivated and a procrastinator at the same time? lol And people wonder why I don’t have a social life. heh
I know the wait-time on submissions varies from place to place. It also depends upon their stacks of submissions. But as carnivorous as I am when it comes to stories, if someone sent me something to read, I’d waste no time in reading it… especially if it was my job. But then, I’m a raging bibliophile. I can’t expect people to devour words like I do.
My family and friends are always telling me what a talented writer I am, but it means nothing if I can’t get published. I swear, my writing career is like my love life… that is to say, non-existent.
if u dont believe in pre-destination, dont kno if u do, than u would agree that then money controls all. whatever u want to do is restricted by ur wealth, depending on ur life style.. n if by chance u dont agree with that, then the situation is never rite.. there is never the perfect moment to do what u want or there is never teh rite ppl.. n so on.. never ever have control…
Glad you are getting a good response to your newsletter. You do put sooo much work into it-
