  • Featured Question #272: Overrated? You betcha!

What is something or someone you find completely overrated?

hahahah! I just had to answer this featured question. Why? Because I think the Featured Questions are overrated! lol Most of them are completely innane, requiring little or no thought to answer. Give me questions that require at least a modicum of effort, please.

That’s why I’ve been going through the Featured Question Chatboard archives and posting my own Writer’s Choice Featured Questions every Monday from worthy suggestions that were never featured. Featured Questions… you and your choice of questions suck!

Someone I find completely overrated? That would be anyone in the Bush family tree. From senior to junior and wives and children. The entire Bush family is overrated. The fact that his daughter and wife are writing children’s books now, cashing in on the “fame” of the President, is completely deplorable. Honestly, I wonder if they even wrote those books or if they weren’t ghost written for them to give our sad little president a boost in the polls. But then I can be pretty paranoid when it comes to government “plots.”

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

    April 10th

The sacred marriage of the God Shiva to the goddess Meenakshi is celebrated by faithful followers in Madurai, India. Sacred hymns are sung and offerings of incense and white flower petals are made at all the temples dedicated to Shiva.

Tin Hau, the Chinese goddess of the North Star and the sea, is honored with a festival in Hong Kong. Chinese legend says Tin Hau, the daughter of a fisherman in China’s Fujian Province, had visions that enabled her to predict storms. On one occasion she saved her father’s boat from a terrible storm and in other stories she saved people from drowning. Chinese fishermen regard her as their protector and Tin Hau temples dot China’s coastline wherever there are fishing communities. Her birthday is celebrated to bring safety, security, fine weather and full nets during the coming year. Seafarers adorn with their boats with colorful ribbons praising the goddess for past protection and praying for future luck. The boats are loaded with symbols of devotion and with offerings to the goddess.

  • I don’t see the Bush clan as being overrated.  Their numbers of approval are horrid.  I think the election of this Great Bush Pretendership of the last 8 years ought to go down as one of the modern marvels of our time.  The great mystery is how it was ever possible. Karl Rove is such an evil genius.  Even the old man hated him, but apparently not enough to stop him from making a mockery of the Office under the Junior half wit.

I rarely pay any attention to featured anything on Xanga.

    Blessings~
