What is the ultimate thing you would do for someone and why?
    Brainy1

If I ever decide to cut my hair, I wouldn't do
it unless I was sure that the locks would go
    to make wigs for cancer
    patients
. At this point, I could take off a foot of hair and still have it nearly touching my shoulders.
    I don't
intend to have children, so if anyone wanted any of the "parts" needed
    for reproduction or my
eggs... they're free to a good home. If I had
an extra organ that someone needed, I'd donate it without any qualms. If I ever saw someone in imminent danger, I'd leap to their
rescue, even if I got killed instead. I'm a registered organ donor, so whenever I die my organs will find their way into others who, at that point, will need them much more than I.

For all that I'm a pacifist and anti-war, I'm not afraid to give my life for someone else.
I'm not afraid to die. I've done it before, so it's no big deal. This is my eleventh life (that I recall), so I'm not worried about dying some day. Everyone dies, more than once. Worrying about it isn't going to change that fact. The only thing I can do is make sure I live in a way that benefits others and hope that my passing also continues to enrich the world in some way. Human beings take far more from the world than they give, particularly in passing. We fill up our bodies with poisonous chemicals which halt their decay and partition the body off in a box that prevents the elements from reclaiming us. Given the choice, I would love to start a trend wherein the body was "planted" sans chemicals beneath a tree and in time, when more people and trees were planted, a cemetery would be a forest and safe from harvesting for lumber. If my family wanted a memorial, some small part of me could be burned to ashes, mixed with clay, and made into a statuette, but the rest of me needs to go in the ground so that the Earth can use my body in whatever way it deems fit.

The real Pied Piper is said to have visited the German town of Hamelin in 1284. Leading the children to their deaths in a sealed cave with the beauty of his music, he had previously solved the towns unfortunate rodent problem with the same melodies.

  • I did Locks of Love last year. I donated 16 inches of hair. It was one of the coolest things that I have ever done in my life!

  • i can’t stand the chemicals and the way we bury either.  just throw me in the backyard with my animals and i’ll be fine.

  • I am afraid to die.  I don’t think I was reincarnated; I’ve made too many dumb mistakes in my life so far for this to be anything else than the first time.  LOL

  • My father is among the trees in a beautiful forest in the mountains.  The trails are all natural and change all the time, so as my mom says he is part of the everything now.  I really like that thought.

  • The thought of “a cemetery would be a forest” is very good. I wouldn’t mind to be buried this way.

  • Uber cool.  And somehow not a surprise.

  • Dear Candace,

Great entry. I’d love to see a photo of your long locks. Have you read my June 24th entry? You might find it interesting.

You’re the first blogger I’ve read who has utilized the “more” feature. (I’ll have to do that to make my posts look shorter than they are.
