Another weird dream last night… No, really…. you’re gonna love this. (I really need to come up with a new adjective to describe the oddity of my dreams.)
So I was a human-sized fairy with gossamer wings in a steampunk Victorian England investigating a possible murder of an inventor by a clockwork clay samurai uncovered from a tomb in the Great Wall of China. The inventor was hiding in a grandfather clock though. Not dead after all, despite all the blood. That never was explained actually.
Just remembered that itty bitty snippet, but what a snippet! lol I could base a whole novel on that snippet! Man… if I had the money, this would so be my Halloween costume next year.
I am feeling much better today. Thank you to everyone who sent energy. I really don’t know what was wrong with me, but I’m glad it’s done.
November 25th
Today honors Persephone (Proserpina, Kore, Arianhrod, or Catherine, Queen of the Shades) ruler of the souls of the dead.
This day was known as Women’s Merrymaking Day at one time, a celebration of women’s mysteries.

Yay Persephone!!! Cool dream snippet! It is that time of the year when our subconscious tries to get through to us to give us clues on the things that we should figure out.
I love just rolling with them.
I’m glad that you’re feeling better.
That’s a great title. I think you should write a story about that. It reminds me of a fantasy version of Laura, that movie with Dana Andrews.
weird dream. definitely more interesting than any of mine lately. corse mines focused on work too often.
I like Persephone, too.
I think I want to read some more mythology when the semester’s over. Blame my poetry class, of all things.
That really would make an awesome costume
And I love the idea of a Woman’s Merrymaking Day. . . do you know where that originated from and was celebrated by any chance???
Hah, you have to love the strange dreams
@heidenkind - I’m not familiar with that movie….
@BoureeMusique - I love mythology. I blame mythology for how I turned out really, both my (antiquated) sense of honor and passion for history and Pagan religion come from my childhood love of mythology.
@Jemstone05 - Women’s Merry Making day seems to have been an outgrowth of worship of Persephone. It was simply a day for women to “make merry,” to have a good time, parties, what have you. It was not part of the religious celebration of Persephone but was probably more casual in tone, mostly an excuse to have a good time like Halloween parties.
@TheCheshireGrins - heh, yeah I do. I don’t get this kind of entertainment watching tv, that’s for sure.
Really? It’s the quintessential film noir. You should rent it, because the more I think about it, but more similar your dream is to the movie. I won’t tell you exactly how because I don’t want to give away the plot twists, though….
You can also read the novel, but I don’t remember who author is at the moment.
@heidenkind - holy crap! I just looked it up and Vincent Price is in it. Now I have to have it. I wish Vincent Price wasn’t dead. He’s one of the few stars I’d have liked to meet. I am wondering if I may have seen it after all at some point, but the description doesn’t ring a bell.
@harmony0stars - Oh yeah, I forgot about him… he plays a gigilo. lol
