This day was sacred to Astraea, goddess of justice.
Japanese Shintos celebrate the birth of their sun goddess, Amaterasu, today. She and her brother the moon god sit with their backs to each other creating the illusion of night and day. The Hari no Kuyo festival of Japan gives women power over the household.
The 23rd day of Tybi was a Feast of Neith.

Yay, Amaterasu! You know, the new Ise Shrine is going up in 2013–if we start saving now, we might be able to make it.
Do I live everyday like it’s a miracle? Yes. And immediately upon waking, I start singing happy songs while birds help make my bed and mice in tiny outfits set out my clothes for me.
@heidenkind - OK Cinderella. lol
I wish I could travel the world and visit various temples, ancient and new. There’s a Hindu temple near me that just went up last year. It’s really beautiful, but they pretty much got chased all over the Lehigh Valley (where I live) because no one wanted it near them. Jerks. I still don’t understand what the big deal was. I think they got a good spot though. It’s right on top of a hill with no houses anywhere nearby. I’ve been thinking about taking my little Ganesha idol to them to have it blessed and maybe asking them where I can find a nice Kali statue too. I’ve seen several, but none of them has ever appealed to me. I’m a picky Pagan. lol
Gotta love community!
And I’m not sure about virtue. I’m a bit too subjective and relativistic for that.
@harmony0stars - lol At least you have a Hindu community near you. I’d be shocked if there was one Hindu temple in our entire state.
