    Interlude

The Head I revised this page. I’m still not happy about the formatting, but I don’t think it’s going to get much better than this unless I host the pages outside of wordpress and link to them.
The Arms: Right and Left Every single time I tried to post this tonight all the pictures kept moving on me! Grrrrrr! But they are up. Sorry about the formatting, but it should be understandable at least. Yeesh! And I thought I’d be taking a break by posting these in December. Silly me! lol
The Legs There some medieval signs on the legs that are not commonly seen. Particular the fixed star signs. I think they look like weird centipede-like bugs and vaguely creepy because of it. But still, fascinating. I’d like to know if other stars have similar jointed symbols, but I’ve only found these symbols for the fixed stars.

Nostradamus is honored today on his birthday. He was born in 1503.

The Hopi celebration of the return of life, Soyal, is a month long ceremony which begins with the new moon before the shortest day of the year. The major rights which occur approximately eight days before the solstice include a celebration of creation and rebirth dedicated to the Spider Woman and Hawk Maiden. A failed mock attack is made against the holder of the sun shield. This represents the sun’s victory over winter’s darkness.

The Romans celebrated the beginning of winter today, honoring its patron goddess, Bruma.

The Geminids meteor shower occurs on or around this date. It is associated with Asteroid 3200 Phaethon.

On the 29th of Tybi, Thoth sent Bast and Sekhmet to guide Egypt.

  • It seems like there are a lot more astrological symbols on the legs than there have been on the arms or head.  Any particular reason?

  • @heidenkind - I think that’s just the way it worked out. It’s not that there weren’t any astrological symbols on the head and arms, but for some reason I ended up with an abundance of them on the legs. I think it was mostly the size of some of the symbols and where I had room that was the deciding factor, especially with the fixed star symbols and the angelic scripts. By comparison, the torso is crowded with symbols and many of them fought for space on the chest. But there are astrological symbols all over the body, particularly the constellation symbols because each sign not only dictates personality, it also presides over health. For instance, Sagittarius and Pisces maintain the health of the legs and feet, and so I put them on the legs to that end.
