  • Did you ever wake up so slowly that the world seemed to bleed into existence? You weren’t asleep one minute and awake the next. You just slowly became aware of the world as if it only formed around you in increments as you woke. Did you ever wonder what existed before you woke up? I do. Waking up that slowly is like opening your eyes in a dream. And I should know about dreaming, being an “expert” Dreamer and all. So it leads me to wonder, when am I ever really awake?

According to one site I found everyone dreams. Dreams range from five to thirty minutes, three to five times every ninety to thirty minutes during eight hours of sleep. Dreams make up about twenty-five percent of a adult’s sleep, but fifty percent of a newborn child’s sleep. Seventy-five percent dream in color, and emotional extremes are the norm, rather than the “modulated” emotions that occur on the waking state. For the average person, six percent of their life is spent dreaming. I wonder how average I am.

Apparently, women dream more indoor settings, and their dreams contain more dialogue, social interaction, emotion and detail. Men dream more of action and the outdoors, contain more male figures, and less dialogue.

And animals are also observed in dreamstate. I think that the fact that animals can dream is one of the best indications that they also have a soul. All the ancients agreed that dreams were dependent upon the activities of the soul. The soul would go wandering they said. And if someone went to sleep and died, then something had happened to the soul. It leads me to wonder if plants dream. heh I’ve never asked them. I’m sure trees probably do, especially in the long winter months, but what about lesser plants.

    I wonder…

In other news… I took a test… like I have soo much free time. heh Well, it is my day off.

It’s interesting because it’s true! lol I always thought I was pretty equally balanced, but apparently, being unbalanced (not imbalanced! :D ) is a good thing. heh

    Your Brain Usage Profile:

    Auditory : 33%
    Visual : 66%
    Left : 33%
    Right : 66%

Candace, you possess an interesting balance of hemispheric and sensory characteristics, with a slight right-brain dominance and a slight preference for visual processing.

Since neither of these is completely centered, you lack the indecision and second-guessing associated with other patterns. You have a distinct preference for creativity and intuition with seemingly sufficient verbal skills to be able to translate in any meaningful way to yourself and others.

You tend to see things in “wholes” without surrendering the ability to attend to details. You can give them sufficient notice to be able to utitlize and incorporate them as part of an overall pattern.

In the same way, while you are active and process information simultaneously, you demonstrate a capacity for sequencing as well as reflection which allows for some “inner dialogue.”

All in all, you are likely to be quite content with yourself and your style although at times it will not necessarily be appreciated by others. You have sufficient confidence to not second-guess yourself, but rather to use your critical faculties in a way that enhances, rather than limits, your creativity.

You can learn in either mode although far more efficiently within the visual mode. It is likely that in listening to conversations or lecture materials you simultaneously translate into pictures which enhance and elaborate on the meaning.

It is most likely that you will gravitate towards those endeavors which are predominantly visual but include some logic or structuring. You may either work particularly hard at cultivating your auditory skills or risk “missing out” on being able to efficiently process what you learn. Your own intuitive skills will at times interfere with your capacity to listen to others, which is something else you may need to take into account.

  • i like how you phrased that..the bleeding into existance thing….feels true more oft than not

and i never really thought of animals having souls perse, but i always wonder what my dog is dreaming about

he makes lots of noise when he does, all his paw atwitchin’ and only when it appears its a bad dream do I wake him

and those are the times he crawls into my lap, perhaps he was really frightened…i just wish i knew the content

  • oooo a test, I must try it. Yes I wonder about what existed before. Oh My 3 questions I’m late on-

    1. If you could be any animal in the world, which one would you be and why?

    2. If you were secluded on an island with any two books of your choosing which two would you chose?

    3. What is the greatest moment of your life?
