  • Some of you may recall (if you’ve been reading my blog for longer than a year) how I lost my job at the bank, September 11th, 2003. Some may even recall the interesting “benefit” that they habitually offered their employees, namely the free psychiatric services…

Well, after nearly a year, one of my former coworkers finally tracked me down at the bookstore. It seems after they let me go for “making terroristic threats at the workplace,” they fired many other “problem” employees. Take for instance Joe #1 (we had three different Joes). Joe had a variety of health problems. At one point he went to the dentist and they broke his jaw as they removed a molar, so he was out for that as well as pneumonia later, etc. It seems after I left, he discovered he had a brain tumor. The bank’s response? Well, they fired him.

So I saw Joe #2 at the bookstore and he filled me in on their policy of firing, and then informed me that he had had a nervous breakdown after they fired Joe #1. Just went up to processing and sat at his desk and did nothing. You’re thinking, wow, the free psychiatric services makes sense now. Right? lol

Anyway, just thought it was an ironic story to share with you all…

Last night (or should I say this morning since I didn’t get home from work till 3am?) I dreamed we bought a house and were redoing the attic. We had to replace the roof because it was leaking and rotting out the walls. The plaster was falling, revealing rotting boards, etc. Then we nocked down a wall, and everything past that point was new. There were these spiralstair-like metal “cages” from floor to ceiling, filled with packing peanuts. I have no idea what that means.

I took a nap this after noon and had some famous people in my dream! Yay… Anyone remember Joxxer and Autolyceus from Xena? Well, I was dressed as a ninja and they were with me. We stumbled into this labyrinth which was supposed to be filled with monsters, but it was dark and deserted. We got all the way through to a dead end.

Joxxer lean against a wall and fell through a secret panel. On the other side was a message… “Congratulations, you are now a hero. Please collect your token.” So we wandered over to a bin marked “tokens,” but it was full of bottle caps with little fortune cookie messages as on them. There was also a knight’s helmet which Joxxer took for himself.

Just as we were trying to decide whether or not to actually take one of the “tokens,” a group of men-at-arms came striding down the hall. They started yelling at us because we weren’t supposed to be there, and we ran in the other directing through a set of doors like movie theater doors at the other end of the hall and into a castle.

There we were told to explain ourselves, at which point Autolyceus went into one of his rambling nonsense stories with many interjections from Joxxer. I was silent through the whole thing. I’m not sure why. I was just reflecting on everything, but not speaking. After they were through, the knights explained that no one had made it through the labyrinth alive in a very long time. So we must be the heros they’d been waiting for.

I’m starting a new series of articles discussing the “laws” of magic with this issue of the Ancient Whispers Newsletter. This is based on a list of laws or magickal theories which I have compiled from various places (twenty-seven in all). In each edition of the newsletter, I will post one law and any sublaws attached to it, and then explore its function and usage in magic. I invite anyone who is interested to agree, disagree, or contribute with your own understanding of the law.

I begin the series with the first law of magick, the Law of Worldviews. This is a theory dealing with the nature of reality… the known and “unknownable” universes. If you’ve ever used affirmations, you have made use of this law without realizing it. Because affirmations as a way of changing your reality are so much a part of this law, the Sites of Interest are all meditative or affirmation sites.

  • Those are some interesting dreams.

I have studied just a little bit about pagan/witchcraft ,which may or may not be what you study. But I have never gotten into it for one fundamental reason, affirmations and spells. I do believe they work however. But to me you shouldn’t worry about changing yourself or your surroundings. To me it seems you should constantly work to bring yourself into a state of absolute awarness. Only awarness no I. A state without desires. And in this state it is possible to do any magick that you wish. But you have no desire’s so you don’t really ever use it when you don’t have to. But with affirmations and spells they can lead you astray into doing magick for youself and it takes away time that you could spend on the “root” source of magick. Not that everyone that uses magick only uses it for themself. I am not attacking anything ,I am just curious as to what your response is to that. I haven’t had the oppurtunity to ask anyone that studies it these questions. It is a question don’t be misled by the fact there are no question marks and that they look like statements. Here you go ???????????????????????????

  • Essentially, your desire to come into a state of absolute awareness illustrates the Law of Worldviews. There is an underlying “real world” and a subjective world controled by your perceptions. The first is immutable, whiel the second is constantly changing. Affirmations and spells are merely tools that you can consciously use to focus the will to effect change in the mutable world. Like meditation, they are a way for you to consciously seek to mesh with the world around you. As you suggest, true immersion in the *real* world would remove any desire to change the world. However, since you cannot live in this *real* world all the time, affirmations, meditations, and spellwork are still valuable tools to reshape the subjective world you must live in.

You might ask why you cannot live in the *real* world, and I would have to say you can, but it is the world we go to when we die. So, you can visit for short periods, but not stay, unless you are ready to move from this plane to the next and leave your body behind.

  • Your dreams never cease to be interesting.  So very vivid.

A question aside from it….what do you know of Celtic Reconstructionists?  It’s something i’ve been looking into lately.

  • From what I have read, the Celtic reconstructionists seem to be conservatives of the Pagan community (fundies). They are attempting to reconstruct the old and often lost traditions of Celtic Paganism strictly through archeological and mythical means, a nearly impossible goal. Combination with other traditions is something that really upsets them, and Neo-Pagans who adopt Celtic traditions are not their favorite people, especially Celtic Wiccas.

  • That is the whole catch 22 ,but to reach a state of absolute awarness you cannot desire it. It takes practice to live in the real world that is for sure. But it is possible to reach a level that cannot be taken away from outside sources. Then you can live in the “real” world without leaving or dying. Anyway thank you for answering my question(s).

  • :Hmm: Whta a funny dream…Ive been ahving wierd dreams like that as of late….I always come out of a dream searching for a meaning…but recently they seem to ubsurb to mean anything…

  • i sell partylite candles and probably have enough of those friggin peanuts to fill a stairwell too.

  • ‘ello Harmony0stars, 1st off forgive my complete ignorance on this newsletter named Ancient whispers but I am still paging through it, could you like give me the ‘cliff notes’ version of what it is? I mean what is the back story behind it. On a side note to your previous employer firing individuals for perceived psychological behavior or medical conditions/complications I am sure there are state laws and policies that either restrict or prevent such actions. I don’t know what state you are in, but I am sure in the future some case could be levied against an employer for unjust termination of employment. Anyway go with caution. -CyTerrin

  • :Read: Ever since I have read your site and you have commented, I have never been able to always come back and say all that I want. I don’t even have words for how much I resonate to how you express yourself. Then there are differences. I see in your dream and answer to my needing to know how you can be around the kind of energy that you are speaking of with the “joes”. That is so scary and awful to me-I am a crystal: I cannot understand man’s inhumanity to man. I seriously would not deal with that, could not deal with that. I would/will live in the woods first. You have such strong intuition. Stronger(I hate to use “more” or “less” but…) than my own. You see into things like I do, and that is also my surprise at your story. You always seem to “get me” so I hope you get how intense it is that you should even have to experience that. I tell the truth, it scares me too much.

Sorry to write so much. Every single one of your comments is so welcome and always right on and super great. Thank you. I am very interested in your “rules of magic”. And I am very big on affirmations! Yay. Namaste. Peace and Blessings

PS: then the dream thing made me think that you have a warrior spirit, adventure spirit and I am so afraid of stuff like that-you seemed to enjoy your dream: and yes~! I do know who Joxxer and Autolyceus are: I love Xena! ~

  • the bank sounds like a great place…. jeez…

cool dream.. i had a weird one.. some guy tired to strangle me with two sticks of dynamite tied together.. n then with the dynamite tried to blow up the cast of house of 1000 corpses 2, my bf, me, n my family… who all happened to be there…

  • I’m bacccckkkk! Girl your dream about the attic redo sounds like the whole place I live in now! Obsolutely on the money. Egads about the Joe’s. Firing someone with a tumor sounds illegal. Geesh, that place is looking for a lawsuit. Glad you got out of there!

  • thanks for the advise. I just had been useing Ice, and banishing light and noise from my presence

  • I was popping  by hopeing to find a white rabbit in your collection…:Eyes:…I am looking for it!

There is a lot of interesting reading here!!……:dancing:
