Yup, nother dream last night, though nowhere nearly as horrible as the one I posted yesterday. Well it’s obviously because I woke up on my side instead of my back, heh. I swear I only have real nightmares on my back.
Anyway, last night -or rather early this morning since I woke up between last night and this morning and then went back to sleep- I dreamed I was back at the very first job I had ever had (a big woman’s clothing store). They had taken me back because I was desperate for work. The clothes were still as ugly as ever.
Never mind that the place hasn’t even existed since the 90s. They went out of business a long, long time ago. But at any rate, they took me back but didn’t bother to train me. They just left me alone in the store, and all these people kept coming in after the store was closed.
In fact, many people from old jobs came in and acted as if they now worked at the clothing store too. They pulled in the clothing racks so we could pull the gate, but customers kept coming. But in the end, all my former coworkers left me alone again to deal with the customers.
There was one lady with a daughter who kept coming behind the counter and trying to help me. That was alright.
For some reason I was selling lottery tickets too. Then the register jammed and I had to try putting more paper in it. The credit card machine started spewing out lots of paper. Sometimes all the customers were in a nice neat line, and others they were milling all over the store. A delivery guy let himself in the back and cranked the stereo, but it was off and on static.
Another lady came up, and her little boy kept coming behind the counter and getting in my way. I told him three times that he didn’t belong there before I told him to ‘Git! Then his mother got all huffy because I “disciplined” her child. I called her a jerk, and one of the other customers agreed with me.
All in all, it was a half-hour after the store was supposed to close and there were still customers in it when I woke up.
